One Lazy 4th of July
Journal Entry: Sat Jul 8, 2006, 8:53 PM
A very lazy day on the 4th of July. Nothing spectacular. You see one firework display, you seen them all. I wasn't expecting anything exciting at all today, but....................................
Woke up early as usual and I did my mundane morning routine. Letting my spirit to decide what the physical body will do for today, I find myself getting in to the car and headed to the golf course. It was so nice to see the caddies dress patriotic with their red, white, and blue garb. It was also pleasantly nice to see the flag stick on each green displaying the American Flag in its place. I must of spent at least 3 hours putting, chipping and pitching on the practice green.
After exhausting myself, i went to shower and decided to go shopping. Lets say that my attention span was diverted to the spectacle on the beaches than at the mall. Detoured my route towards the beach and saw the boats lined up in the horizon. My guess is that they are pre-gaming before the evening fireworks. Its was only 3pm. LOL. I decided to park my car and sit out on the sandy beach. I was deep in thought with a book that I brought along.
After several hours getting sun and enjoying my book, I finally decided to drive to the mall. Once at the mall, I didn't quite find anything worth buying. After buying my carmel frappuccino at Starbucks, I decided to walk to Bass ProShop. Almost bought myself a kayak, but decided not to because I didn't have a rack for my convertible top. LOL.
Before leaving the mall, I decided to walk over the movie theatre to see what is playing. The only movie that stole my interest was "The Devil Wears Prada" with Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. Corny how it sounds, I actually found myself in line to purchase a ticket to see it. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprise to my delight of the movie. I really enjoyed myself immensely.
As I walked out of the theatre, the firework display started. I really enjoyed the fireworks that was presented that evening. It was done on the parking lot on the malls ground. Just standing in the midst of the outdoor shops and looking up, I was captivated by the alure of the lights above. Extremely exciting.
Funny how life presents itself. You never know what to expect. It was indeed a very enjoyable day after all.
